Big Day!

After our typical morning routine, Jonathan, I and Nathaniel, went to the school to meet with staff to discuss the plan for his schooling. When we pulled into the parking lot, I heard a "yay!" from the backseat : ) He is so excited to start school!

We feel very good that he will have a great experience, as the staff has developed a very structured and individualized plan for him. He will have a good amount of support from the ELL aide each day and his new teacher seems wonderful! He is set to begin class tomorrow!!

After the formal meeting was complete, Nathaniel was able to see his classroom (including his desk and locker), meet his classmates, and have recess with them. He was so happy!! I, unfortunately, did not remember to bring the camera - oops!

He was not happy to leave, but did enjoy getting his school supplies labeled and ready to go once we got home. He seems to understand that he is starting school soon. 

Once Annaliese got home, she and I went to get her hair braided. She decided to try microbraids this time. It took a long time, but turned out really well!! I can't believe how much older she looks with longer hair!

We then went to small group for the first time since Nathaniel has been home. They were so thoughtful to suggest a social night so that the kids would have a chance to get to know one another with us close by. Everyone did well and we are so happy to be back : )
