Grandma's House
This weekend we got to spend some time at Grandma Jane's house. Annaliese got to see her first Disney classic, Cinderella, climb trees, have Easter egg hunts, and lots of other fun things. Thanks grandma for the fun weekend : )

Sign Language
Annaliese had her first up-close encounter with
a person who is deaf tonight. My sister has a friend that joined us for dinner
and Annaliese was absolutely intrigued by the sign language. She even learned a few signs of her own –
chicken, applesauce, and water : )

First Wedding
Annaliese got to go to her first wedding
today!
She looked so beautiful in her new dress and loved twirling in it for us : ) She did very well during the ceremony and was very interested in why Rob & Amber kissed at the end!
She enjoyed the reception - yummy food and dancing with the beautiful bride : )

Portfolio Night at School
This evening, Jonathan and I had our first
parent-teacher conference. Who would have thought that this time last year we
were still waiting for our beautiful child and now we are at parent-teacher
conferences?!?!
Ms. Jenkins, Ms. Layzell (the student teacher), and Mrs. Malone (the ESL teacher) had nothing but positive things to say about Annaliese. They all thoroughly enjoy having her as part of their class.
After our meeting, she was able to show us around her classroom. We looked through some of the projects she has been working on over the past few months. Oh my - what a change from the beginning of January to now!!

One of our favorite projects was the picture that she drew (below) when asked to draw what makes her special. She drew her family - daddy, mommy, Annaliese, Kizzie and Allie.
We are so proud of how hard she is working and
feel so blessed to have a great team of teachers working with her. They have
all gone above and beyond : )
Spirit Week
Yesterday was Pajama Day
And today was the day that she got to pick out her
favorite color shirt - red or blue. She chose the red! Go Cards!

Where Her Loyalties Lie
Funny
conversation tonight in the car –
They are celebrating “Spirit Week” at Annaliese’s school the next couple of days. Tomorrow she gets to wear pajamas to school and Thursday is sports day. I was asking her about Thursday:
Mommy: “Would you like to wear a red shirt or a blue shirt on Thursday?”
Annaliese: Quickly responded “red.”
** Of course mommy cheered : ) **
Daddy (trying to trick the poor, innocent child): “Would you like to wear a blue shirt or a blue shirt on Thursday?”
Annaliese thought for a moment and then said, “no – VERY no!”
SMART! - that’s my girl!

Family Swim Time
At the end of February, we started a family
membership at the YMCA. Jonathan & I wanted to get back into exercising and
we wanted Annaliese to be able to enjoy the pool, swim lessons, and gymnastics.
We did not know what to expect when we took her to the pool for the first time, but she absolutely LOVED it! She is like a little fish in the water : )
She likes to jump in, hold her breath, and “dive” for things. It turns out she has just as much energy in the water as she does on land. Yikes!
