Embassy Interview Complete

As we slept last night, Jonathan completed his interview with the Embassy. All went well and he expects to receive Gojam’s documents for travel tomorrow!

This morning before school, Annaliese and I skyped with Jonathan and Gojam. This was the first time that these two had seen each other outside of pictures – what a treat to witness! The best “conversation” happened with silly faces : )

Special Treat

Annaliese and I have been working hard to prepare for Gojam’s arrival. One of our biggest projects has been to label items throughout our house to assist with his learning English – reading, writing, and speaking (thanks to the suggestion of Krista Ewerks).

We enjoyed a break this evening with our friend Michelle. We went out to dinner and then to see the African Children’s Choir perform at a local church. It was such a great, high-energy performance!!

Gotcha Day!!

As we slept, Jonathan arrived safely in Ethiopia! We were able to chat on Skype a bit before he headed out to pick up Gojam.

The reunion went well : )

I had the opportunity to Skype with both of them on Wednesday afternoon (their time) while Annaliese was at school. Apparently Gojam kept asking where mommy was, which absolutely made my day!! So good to see them both together!

Jonathan is scheduled to complete his Embassy interview tomorrow morning. Please continue to pray as this adoption nears completion!!

Submitted to Embassy!

Our case was submitted to the U.S. Embassy today!! It should clear anytime in the next five days, but most commonly does so in just one day. Hoping to send Jonathan back to Ethiopia by the beginning of this next week : )
