School Fun

The second day of school went well. He literally ran up to the building, "high-fiving" his teacher on the way in : )

This evening we went back to the school for a family night. It was called "Passport through Nonfiction" and was very well done. We enjoyed a pizza dinner (one of Nathaniel's favorites) and then traveled through four stations. At each station, a book telling a true story from one of four countries was read to the kids and then a related activity was completed. After they were finished, they received a "stamp" in their passport. The kids loved it.

The little girl in front of Nathaniel is a girl in his class. Since Annaliese began Kindergarten in January of 2013, but then repeated a full year of Kindergarten, this little girl was also in Annaliese's first class. I will never forget her on the first day that Annaliese went to school. She looked at me, who obviously looked a bit anxious, and said, "It's okay...I make friends with the new kids." What a sweet young lady! She is now in Nathaniel's class and taking him under her wing as well. Had a chance to thank her mom tonight : )
